Bereavement Services

What we offer

In 2014, we decided to extend our services into Bereavement Support. We launched our first Dandelions Bereavement Support Group in September 2014. Dandelions provides a social environment and emotional support from our trained staff, for our families and the local community. Alongside our regular group meetings, we invite guest speakers to provide advice and information and organise trips and outings to encourage friendships and fun. In June 2015, we introduced our bereavement support programme, Grief Journey, in association with Dr. Bill Webster, author and grief counsellor. We currently run this programme seasonally with extra programmes as requested.

Dandelions Bereavement Support Groups – our support groups meet once or twice a month made up of people who have all experienced a bereavement. It offers regular accessible support from skilled and experienced facilitators, enabling you to live a full and meaningful life in the here and now as well as in the future. The group provides a safe environment where you can share stories and express feelings freely knowing others will understand, be non-judgemental and supportive.

Grief Journey – a bereavement support programme designed to equip you with the tools, knowledge and a fresh mindset to come to terms with your grief and work towards your future. We work in association with grief counsellor and author Dr. Bill Webster using exclusive content from The Centre for Grief Journey. Over four weeks we meet once a week for a two-hour session that covers how grief affects people, confronting emotions and loneliness. Grief is an individual experience; each person’s grief is unique and personal. The Grief Journey sessions help you to explore the grief process and your own journey to help you cope with adjustments to life as it is now and in the future.
